Lebanese Forces considers reviewing government participation

The Lebanese Forces party is reconsidering its participation in the Lebanese government due to disagreements over policy and performance. Representative Fadi Karam of the Strong Republic bloc stated that the party is open to reviewing its ministerial presence if reform proposals continue to be ignored and if certain decisions remain unacceptable.

A primary point of contention involves the energy sector, with the party holding Energy Minister Joe Sadi responsible for accumulated failures regarding electricity. Karam noted that while the party remains in the government due to its support for the administration's sovereign decisions, there is significant dissatisfaction regarding the allocation of state funds. Specifically, the party criticized the diversion of funds toward reconstruction efforts in the south while the war is ongoing, labeling such spending as wasteful and misplaced.

The party maintains that for a truly reformative government to exist, both the sovereign path and the reformist path must be integrated, rather than allowing internal calculations and the 'deep state' to override the rebuilding of national institutions.
