Lebanese Forces demand judicial action on explosives and electricity funding

The Strong Republic bloc and the executive body of the Lebanese Forces party, led by Samir Geagea, held a meeting to address critical national issues. The group called for the immediate referral of the Dahr al-Bidr explosives case to the Judicial Council.

They argued that the presence of massive quantities of explosives linked to Hezbollah—an organization previously banned from security and military activities by the government—constitutes a threat to national security and sovereignty. The party criticized delays in the investigation, stating that waiting for further findings to avoid judicial referral undermines state authority.

Additionally, the group addressed the electricity crisis, warning that the Ministry of Finance’s failure to pay outstanding debts to Electricité du Liban threatens to reduce power supply hours during the upcoming winter. They noted that while the Minister of Energy is attempting to increase supply, success depends on the government settling these financial obligations to prevent further hardship for citizens.
