Lebanese Foreign Minister meets Bahraini counterpart in Manama

Lebanese Foreign Minister and Emigrants Youssef Raji met with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the sidelines of the 22nd Manama Dialogue. During the meeting, Raji expressed Lebanon's support for Bahrain against any attacks on its territory and condemned previous strikes against Manama.

Raji discussed Lebanon's political and security situation, emphasizing the state's commitment to sovereignty, the restriction of weapons to legitimate state institutions, and the extension of authority over all national territory. He also provided updates on direct negotiations with Israel, noting that while a framework agreement helped limit attacks and neutralize Beirut, Israel has not committed to a withdrawal and Hezbollah refuses to surrender its weapons.

Dr. Al Zayani emphasized the importance of Lebanese stability and expressed a desire to restore bilateral relations. Raji welcomed the opening of a Bahraini embassy in Beirut last November and requested the appointment of a new ambassador, the resumption of direct air links starting with commercial cargo, and easier visa processes for Lebanese citizens visiting Bahrain.
