Lebanese Land Movement warns of suspicious real estate deals in Matn
Talal al-Duwaihi, president of the Lebanese Land Movement, has raised alarms regarding suspicious real estate transactions in the Matn region of Mount Lebanon. The movement reports that data suggests more than 86 properties, totaling approximately 518,000 square meters, are being purchased in several towns.
Specific areas identified include Baabdath, Mar Moussa, Bermanah, Al-Muhaidatha, Al-Qa’qour, Wata al-Joz, and Al-Atshana. Al-Duwaihi expressed concern that these concentrated purchases could lead to significant demographic, social, and national implications.
The movement has called upon the Lebanese Ministry of Justice and relevant authorities to investigate these transactions to ensure transparency and the application of laws, emphasizing the need to protect the identity and social balance of these regions.
