Lebanese MP Ibrahim al-Mousawi criticizes state authority
Lebanese Member of Parliament Ibrahim al-Mousawi, a member of the ‘Loyalty to the Resistance’ bloc, has called on the Lebanese authorities to embrace the resistance community rather than persecuting it. Speaking during a commemoration for martyrs in the town of Al-Alaq in West Baalbek, al-Mousawi questioned the state's ability to fulfill its national duties and protect its citizens, particularly in light of ongoing Israeli attacks in the south.
Al-Mousawi criticized the current course of negotiations, suggesting that continuous concessions without tangible results raise doubts about the effectiveness of the chosen diplomatic path. He characterized the government's actions as a retreat under American and Israeli pressure and argued that the state should honor those who have made sacrifices for the country instead of subjecting them to judicial pursuit.
He emphasized that the resistance was forced into its role due to aggression and the absence of state protection, asserting that the community remains committed to its values despite political and media pressures.
