Lebanese security forces dismantle burglary and kidnapping rings

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) Information Branch has dismantled two criminal networks operating across the Mount Lebanon governorate, specifically in the Matn and Keserwan regions.

In the first operation, authorities arrested two Syrian nationals involved in a burglary gang. The group targeted homes, offices, and commercial shops using forced entry. One suspect was apprehended in Souheila, and investigations revealed the group used a Kia Picanto to facilitate their crimes. One suspect admitted to entering Lebanon illegally.

In a separate crackdown, the ISF arrested two Lebanese men in Mansourie for their involvement in a prostitution facilitation and kidnapping ring. The suspects reportedly kidnapped women working in the industry and extorted their employers for ransoms ranging from $500 to $1,500. The group operated across several areas, including Hazmieh, Mansourie, Tabarja, Jounieh, Ghazir, Ain El Remmaneh, Chiyah, Dahieh, Zalka, and Antelias. During the arrest, the suspects resisted and used force, leading officers to use necessary measures to subdue them. Confessions included involvement in drug use and the use of firearms.
