Lebanon arrests TikTok influencer Georges Dib for drug trafficking

Lebanese authorities have arrested Georges Dib, a prominent food influencer known on TikTok as ‘Doctor Food’, at his home in the Akkar governorate. Dib, who has millions of followers, had previously been handed a life sentence in absentia.

The arrest follows investigations into allegations that Dib was involved in the manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling of narcotics. Authorities previously seized confectionery and food products at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport that were found to be laced with drugs and intended for export to Gulf countries.

Security forces reported that Dib had attempted to evade detection by frequently changing vehicles, phone numbers, and locations. He will be transferred to a detention center in Mount Lebanon to face new trials regarding further drug trafficking charges.
