Lebanon expands investigation into Hezbollah-linked security network

Lebanese judicial investigations into a security network linked to remnants of the Syrian regime and Hezbollah are ongoing following the arrest of five individuals. While initial investigations by the Internal Security Forces have concluded, Prosecutor General Ahmed Rami Al-Hajj has ordered the referral of the detainees to the military court under Judge Claude Ghanem.

New developments suggest the investigation is expanding. Analysis of mobile phones seized from the detainees has revealed links to other individuals operating within Lebanon. Authorities have identified several suspects by name and are working to track them. A search warrant has been issued for an individual known as ‘Al-Hajj Ala,’ who is allegedly responsible for managing and training the network. It remains unclear if he is currently in Lebanon or has fled abroad.

Digital forensics continue as the seized devices are being analyzed by the Information Branch to uncover further connections to other security files.
