Lebanon: Jihad Dbibyan warns of Israeli escalation ahead of elections

Jihad Dbibyan, Secretary-General of the National Unified Meeting, issued a statement marking the second anniversary of Hassan Nasrallah’s death. Dbibyan asserted that Nasrallah’s influence remains profound among supporters and globally in the face of American and Israeli pressure.

Dbibyan warned of potential Israeli military escalation against Lebanon, suggesting that Benjamin Netanyahu might utilize such actions to serve his interests ahead of Israeli elections. He characterized Nasrallah as a leader who successfully navigated regional challenges and worked to maintain Lebanese national unity to prevent internal strife.

The statement also honored the late Hezbollah Secretary-General Hashem Safieddine, noting his role in institutionalizing the party and supporting its environment during various conflicts.
