Lebanon political developments: Amal Movement rivalry and diplomatic shifts

Various political and social developments are unfolding in Lebanon. Within the Amal Movement, internal competition is intensifying among several figures positioned around Nabih Berri, each seeking leadership influence should Berri step down.

Diplomatically, Tehran is expected to appoint a new ambassador to Lebanon as a gesture of goodwill following a meeting between the Iranian President and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. Meanwhile, political circles have expressed surprise at the lack of official response to accusations made by Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, who suggested the Lebanese authorities are relying on Israeli and American interests.

Economically, experts warn that global conditions may negatively impact remittances sent by Lebanese citizens to the country. On the domestic front, government authorities face limited capacity to provide solutions due to budget constraints and rising prices, while agricultural sectors seek new markets for surplus apple supplies.
