Lebanon suspends dairy products from three factories
The Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade has suspended the sale of dairy and cheese products from three different factories following laboratory tests that revealed non-compliance with national standards.
Miral Taanayel, located in Qab Elias, had its feta, double cream, and labneh products suspended due to the presence of starch and vegetable oils. The factory has been ordered to withdraw these items from markets for supervised destruction.
Center Milk Taanayel, also in Qab Elias, faced similar violations. Laboratory analysis found starch in its halloumi and double cream, while its double cream, Akkawi Chechi, and yogurt contained vegetable oils. All mentioned products from this facility are suspended.
Al-Mukhtar for Dairy and Cheese, based in Housh Sayyed Ali, had its Akkawi Chechi cheese suspended due to microbiological non-compliance. The factory must also withdraw the product for supervised disposal.
