Lebanon tensions escalate amid Israeli strikes and Hezbollah drone attacks

Tensions have escalated in southern Lebanon as Israeli military operations and Hezbollah retaliatory actions continue. Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas including Tyre, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil, with significant focus on the Ali al-Taher heights, a strategic location north of the Litani River.

In response to the ongoing conflict, Hezbollah released footage of FPV drone attacks directed at Israeli soldiers and military equipment near Zawtar al-Sharqiyah. The group claims these operations were conducted in the days preceding a ceasefire arrangement.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam visited Tyre to advocate for a political doctrine centered on the deployment of the Lebanese Army to re-establish state authority in the south. The situation remains complicated by disputes over a U.S.-mediated agreement intended to facilitate a gradual Israeli military withdrawal and the implementation of pilot zones for the Lebanese Army, with both sides accusing the other of violating the terms.
