Lebanon weather warning: Heavy rain and flash flood risks

Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean are experiencing a moderate low-pressure system bringing atmospheric instability. The weather is shifting from stable summer conditions to cloudy and rainy conditions, accompanied by relatively cold air masses and a drop in temperatures.

Forecasts indicate scattered, and at times heavy, rainfall starting Saturday afternoon, particularly in northern regions. These storms may include lightning, thunder, and active winds reaching up to 60 km/h. There is a specific warning regarding the risk of flash floods on roads, especially in the northern part of the country. Fog is expected to form in the highlands, reducing visibility.

On Sunday, unstable weather is expected to continue through the morning with heavy showers possible in northern and southern areas. Conditions are predicted to gradually stabilize starting Sunday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to rise again by Monday and Tuesday.
