Lebara Nigeria launches nationwide mobile services

Lebara Nigeria, a subsidiary of the British group Lebara, has officially launched nationwide commercial operations in Nigeria. As a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), the company does not maintain its own physical infrastructure but instead operates through a partnership with Airtel Nigeria.

The company is targeting a digitally active demographic by offering services such as mobile voice, SMS, data, cloud storage, and access to its entertainment platform, LebaraPlay. To differentiate itself in a saturated market, Lebara is focusing on digital convenience and customer experience rather than competing solely on price.

Key features of the launch include the ‘Scan, Snap and Connect’ process, which allows customers to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification remotely via the My LebaraNG application. Customers can access services through physical SIM cards or eSIMs, with distribution available through over 1,000 registered retail agents and Slot electronics stores.
