LeBron James invests in Mike's Red Tacos for nationwide expansion

NBA star LeBron James and his investment partner, Main Street Advisors, have invested in Mike's Red Tacos, a Southern California-based birria brand. The investment comes as the company prepares for a major nationwide expansion, with more than 300 franchise locations currently in development.

Founded by Mike Touma as a San Diego food truck, the brand is now led by CEO Andrew Feghali and Chairman Bill Phelps. Phelps, the cofounder of Wetzel's Pretzels, previously held leadership roles at Blaze Pizza and Dave's Hot Chicken. James and Main Street Advisors have a history with this leadership team, having previously invested in Dave's Hot Chicken.

As part of its immediate growth, Mike's Red Tacos is set to open its first Los Angeles-area location in Pasadena this fall. James stated that the investment is rooted in his appreciation for the food and the brand's ability to bring people together through shared traditions.
