Reports suggest LeBron James experienced “internal conflict” during his final season with the Los Angeles Lakers regarding the team hierarchy. According to The Athletic’s Law Murray, while James accepted Luka Doncic as the primary option, he struggled with the amount of playmaking responsibility he had to defer to Austin Reaves.

Reaves had a career-best season with the Lakers, averaging 23.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds. Following his departure to the Philadelphia 76ers, analysts suggest James may find a more comfortable offensive balance. In Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey is expected to handle primary ball-handling duties, allowing James to participate in playmaking without the need to over-handle the basketball.
