Lecce and Genoa prepare for crucial Serie A relegation battle

Lecce will host Genoa at the Via del Mare stadium in a significant Serie A match focused on the fight for survival. Lecce aims to recover from a heavy 5-1 defeat against Frosinone, while Genoa enters the match following a 2-0 victory over Juventus.

Lecce manager Eusebio Di Francesco faces several personnel challenges, including the suspension of Gaspar and injuries to Coulibaly, Ilic, Berisha, and Pierotti. Expected lineups for Lecce include Maleh and Ngom on the flanks, with Fatah in midfield and the attacking duo of Stulic and N’Dri.

Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi will be without Nuredini and Venturino due to muscular issues. The visitors are expected to field El Shaarawy and Baldanzi on the wings, with Amorim in the attacking midfield role and Osmajic and Vitinha leading the line.

Historically, Lecce has held an advantage in matches played in Salento, with 12 wins, 4 losses, and 5 draws across 21 encounters in Serie A, Serie B, and Coppa Italia. The last Serie A meeting in Lecce resulted in a 1-0 victory for the home side.
