Lecce authorities increase security following villa burglaries

Authorities in Lecce are intensifying security measures following a series of burglaries targeting villas in the Via Rapolla residential area. In response to resident complaints and formal petitions, the Prefecture has confirmed that intensified surveillance and control services by law enforcement are already in place.

In addition to increased patrols, the Prefecture has requested that the municipality of Lecce enhance technological prevention. This includes a call for the installation of new video surveillance cameras along Via Rapolla and surrounding streets to serve as a deterrent against the ongoing wave of thefts.
