Lecce finish Austrian preseason with 5-2 victory over NK Bistrica

Italian Serie A side U.S. Lecce closed its Austrian preseason camp with a 5-2 win against Slovenian second‑division club NK Bistrica. The friendly, played in Bad Loipersdorf, featured a double from young forward Paco Esteban, a penalty conversion by Maleh, and goals from Kovac and Onyemachi. NK Bistrica’s sole reply came from Vrdoljak, while an own‑goal by Jean added to the tally.

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco used the match to rotate the squad, giving significant minutes to several youth players and noting the absence of Danilo Veiga, Berisha, Gandelman and others. Following the camp, Lecce will travel back to Italy for a Coppa Italia fixture on 16 August in Palermo and begin their Serie A campaign on 23 August in Venice.
