US Lecce signs Geubbels and faces missing striker Banda

Italian Serie A club US Lecce completed the signing of French forward Willem Geubbels from Paris FC. The 24‑year‑old, a former Lyon academy product, joined on a permanent deal worth €5 million with a contract running to June 2031. Lecce announced that Geubbels arrived at Brindisi airport for a medical examination and is expected to be registered for the upcoming season.

At the same time, the club is dealing with the unexplained absence of Zambian striker Lameck Banda. Banda has not reported to training since mid‑July and the club has lost contact with him, despite his recent social‑media posts. Lecce cited bureaucratic passport problems that prevented his entry from Zambia and warned of possible disciplinary measures.
