Lecce Provincial Council Election Confirms Centre‑Left Majority

In the recent provincial elections for the Province of Lecce, the centre‑left coalition retained control of the provincial council. The Democratic Party (Italy) secured four of the elected councillors, confirming its role as the central pillar of the coalition, supported by roughly two hundred additional local administrators such as mayors and municipal council members.

The centre‑right list obtained eight seats, exactly half of the council, based on 44,188 weighted votes. Those seats were divided among the League (four councillors), Brothers of Italy (three councillors) and Forza Italia (one councillor). Renato Stabile of Brothers of Italy was the single most‑voted candidate with 7,465 weighted votes.
