Lecce sign striker Willem Geubbels as Milan eye debut of defender Sankhoun Diawara

French striker Willem Geubbels, 25, joins Serie A side Lecce. The forward, who won the French Cup with Nantes and scored 17 goals for Swiss club St. Gallen in the 2023/24 season, arrives after spells at Lyon’s academy, Monaco, Paris FC and a successful stint in Switzerland. Lecce hope his physical presence and experience will boost their attack for the upcoming season.

Defender Sankhoun Diawara, also French, is being considered for his first appearance with AC Milan. Diawara made nearly 20 appearances for Troyes after January, contributing a goal and an assist in Ligue 2 and helping the team secure promotion to Ligue 1. His versatility, speed and physicality have drawn attention as Milan assess his readiness for Serie A competition.
