Lecce to host 22nd AVSS international scientific conference

The 22nd edition of the AVSS (Advanced Visual and Signal-Based Systems) international scientific conference will take place in Lecce, Italy, from August 31 to September 3, 2026. Organized by CNR-ISASI, the event focuses on artificial intelligence, computer vision, signal processing, and intelligent systems applied to security, health, mobility, and environmental monitoring.

The conference will follow a hybrid format. On August 31, workshops, tutorials, and challenges will be held at Convitto Palmieri. The main conference, featuring keynotes, scientific sessions, and industrial networking, will be hosted at Castello Carlo V from September 1 to September 3.

The 2026 theme, ‘Expanding Horizons in Security, Safety, and Societal Monitoring’, reflects an evolution from traditional surveillance toward interpreting phenomena, recognizing risks, and supporting the management of human and social conditions. The program includes research in areas such as automatic image and video analysis, biometrics, forensic analysis, and the Internet of Things.
