Lecce to host AVSS 2026 AI conference
The AVSS 2026 conference, titled ‘Expanding Horizons in Security, Safety, and Societal Monitoring’, is scheduled to take place in Lecce from August 31 to September 3. The event will bring together approximately 150 scholars to discuss advanced visual and signal-based systems, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence to images and signals.
Hosted at locations including Castello Carlo V and Convitto Palmieri, the conference features various specialized workshops. These include ISSA2026, which focuses on sensor-assisted agriculture; AI4Nature, covering biodiversity and environmental monitoring; and MDB2026, which examines the ethical implications of video analysis in real-world settings. Other sessions will address topics such as biometrics, distributed networks, multimodal flows, and water resource management using AI and geographic information systems.
