Lecce wins 1-0 preseason friendly over Hungarian side Haladás in Szombathely

Lecce travelled to Szombathely, Hungary for their first preseason friendly on 19 July 2026, facing Haladás VSE. The Italian club secured a 1‑0 victory, the only goal coming from 19‑year‑old Hjalte Laerke. The match was used as a physical test, with 18 players taking part, including recent signings such as defender Kialonda Gaspar.

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco said the game helped assess the squad’s fitness, tactical balance and the integration of new faces. He outlined a continuation of three further friendlies on 22, 25 and 29 July before the Serie A season opens on 23 August against Venezia.
