Lecco advances candidacy for healthcare innovation zone

The Lombardy Region has approved the successful completion of the first phase of the ZIS Healthcare, Rehabilitation and Longevity candidacy for Lecco. This approval allows the project to proceed to the next stage to seek official recognition as a Zone of Innovation and Development (ZIS).

The initiative aims to establish Lecco as a primary hub for healthcare innovation, rehabilitation, and longevity by networking companies, universities, research centers, and training institutions. The partnership focuses on biomechanics, medical technologies, and applied research to attract investment to the Lecco and Brianza areas.

Led by the Associazione La Nostra Famiglia, the partnership includes the Lecco campus of the Politecnico di Milano, with scientific coordination provided by Professor Marco Tarabini. The group now has 60 days to submit a definitive dossier and strategic plan for final regional evaluation.
