Lecco City Council faces tension over commission appointments

Political tension has emerged in the Lecco City Council following the election of Mauro Fumagalli to the control and guarantee commission. The election caused members of the center-left to walk out of the chamber in protest.

According to council regulations, the seven-member commission should consist of four members from the majority and three from the minority. However, the Democratic Party (PD) alleges that the majority manipulated the voting process to secure Fumagalli, effectively seizing a seat intended for the minority. PD group leader Pietro Regazzoni described the move as a serious violation of dialogue and respect within the council.
