Lecco province assists 6,000 citizens with digital services

Nearly 6,000 residents in the province of Lecco have been assisted in accessing public services that have transitioned to exclusively digital formats. The initiative, a territorial project for digital facilitation, concluded after one year of activity.

Supported by 287,000 euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) via the Lombardy Region, the project was managed locally by the Province of Lecco. To support users, 46 facilitators were selected and trained by the Provincial Center for Adult Education (CPIA Fabrizio De André).

The program focused on helping elderly citizens, foreign nationals, and vulnerable individuals gain autonomy with digital tools. Services provided included assistance with obtaining SPID (digital identity), electronic identity cards, and accessing regional health records. Other supported tasks included school enrollment and using electronic registers. For foreign residents, facilitators provided guidance in Arabic, French, and English, as well as assistance with job search portals.

The project utilized a network of free service points involving municipalities, the Provincial School Office, employment centers, and social services in Lecco, Merate, and Valsassina.
