Lecco province reports local history, vandalism, and legal disputes

Several local developments have been reported in the Lecco province of Italy. In Lecco, historian and geologist Salvatore Bordonaro presented a study on the history of the railway bridge over the Adda river. Designed by engineer Alfredo Cottrau, the bridge features masonry pillars with foundations reaching nearly twenty meters below the water level, constructed using compressed air caisson techniques.

In Garlate, the municipal administration has announced plans to dismantle a recently renovated football pitch at Manzocchi Park following acts of vandalism. The facility, which had undergone a 30,000-euro renovation only months prior, suffered damage to its goalposts. Officials stated the area will be repurposed to prevent further misuse of public funds.

In Dervio, a legal dispute regarding a ten-meter maple tree at the Residence Boldona has drawn local protest. A court ordered the tree's removal after a resident complained it obstructed her view and light, but the scheduled cutting has been delayed amid mobilization from residents opposing the removal of the plant.
