Lecco ZIS HRL project advances to second phase for healthcare technology
The ZIS HRL (Healthcare, Rehabilitation and Longevity) project in Lecco has advanced to the second phase of a program promoted by the Lombardy Region. Led by the Associazione La Nostra Famiglia, the initiative forms a partnership between universities, research institutions, healthcare facilities, and industrial entities to develop technologies and services focused on health, rehabilitation, and longevity.
Key partners include the Politecnico di Milano's Lecco territorial hub, Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Center, the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation, and various local industrial associations. The project operates under a ‘Living Lab’ model, connecting scientific research and clinical validation with real-world applications.
The initiative focuses on three primary areas: health prevention and protection, the improvement of rehabilitation pathways, and active aging to maintain autonomy. It aims to ensure continuity of care between healthcare facilities, local territories, and homes, with specific attention to the needs of people with disabilities. Companies involved can utilize research infrastructure to develop products using robotics, sensor technology, biomechanics, virtual reality, and augmented reality.
