Lech Poznań sanctioned by UEFA over fan misconduct
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has imposed multiple sanctions on the Polish club Lech Poznań following misconduct by its supporters during a Europa League match against Crystal Palace in London.
The club faces two distinct sets of penalties. First, for racist and/or discriminatory behavior, Lech Poznań was fined 15,000 euros and received a ban on selling tickets for one away match in UEFA competitions. Second, for the use of pyrotechnics, the club was fined 10,000 euros and received a separate ban on selling tickets for one away match.
Both ticket bans have been suspended for a two-year probationary period. If further similar offenses occur during this time, the sanctions will be automatically reinstated, forcing the club to play international away matches without its fans.
