Lech Poznan secured a dominant 7-0 victory over FC Thun in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off. The Polish champions led 5-0 by halftime, with goals from Patrik Walemark, Allahyar Sayyad, Mateusz Skrzypczak, and Radoslaw Murawski. Daniel Hakans and Robert Gumny added further goals in the second half to complete the rout.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Swiss champions are guaranteed a place in a UEFA European league phase. Under the current UEFA competition format, losers of the Europa League play-offs automatically transition into the Conference League league phase. This ensures FC Thun remains in European competition regardless of the second-leg result.
