Leclerc supermarket in Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon relocates drive service

The Leclerc hypermarket in Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon is relocating its drive-thru service to a new location to mitigate flood risks. Following a significant flood on January 27, 2025, which saw water levels reach 1.20 meters inside the store, the facility faced a two-month closure costing approximately seven million euros.

The owner, PRD (Pays de Redon distribution), has received authorization from the Loire-Atlantique Departmental Commission for Commercial Development (CDAC) to establish an eight-lane drive at 4, rue des Chênes in the Bauches economic activity zone. This move will transfer the current drive service from the main store's western gable to the new site, allowing the vacated space to be used for storage, which is currently kept in highly exposed flood areas.

To facilitate this, Redon Agglomération modified the local urban plan (PLU) to permit drive-thru activities at the former DIY store site. Construction is already well underway, with the canopy and building exterior largely completed.
