Global LED video display market projected to grow despite rising component costs

The global LED video display market is navigating a period of transition characterized by rising component costs and trade tensions. While shipments rose 3.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, revenue saw a slight decline of 0.2% due to industry pressures.

Research from Omdia and Global Reports indicates that despite near-term challenges, the market is poised for significant growth. The outdoor full-color LED display segment is projected to grow from $2.196 billion in 2025 to $2.376 billion in 2026, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.1% through 2032. More broadly, Omdia forecasts an 11.6% CAGR for global LED video display revenue between 2026 and 2030.

Manufacturers are responding to increased costs for LED chips, driver ICs, and PCBs by shifting focus toward higher-value, premium products that offer improved energy efficiency and reliability. To mitigate supply chain risks and manage costs, companies are expanding regional manufacturing. For instance, Daktronics is investing in a new facility in Saltillo, Mexico, to better serve regional requirements and manage tariffs.
