College football player Lee Amedee has decided to return to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a fifth year of eligibility. This decision follows a shifting legal landscape regarding NCAA eligibility rules.

While the NCAA recently adopted a model allowing athletes to play five seasons, the rollout was initially set to begin with students enrolling in the fall of 2027. However, a Louisiana court issued a temporary restraining order that allowed several former college football players to return to their rosters. This legal development, which included cases involving players with existing NFL contracts, provided a pathway for Amedee to pursue another season after previously playing for the New York Boulders in the Frontier League.
