Lee Bo-mi wins South Korea's first MMA medal at Asian Games

South Korean athlete Lee Bo-mi secured the nation's first-ever medal in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Competing in the women's modern 54kg category, Lee earned a bronze medal after a semifinal match against Bahrain's Diana Pogosian. During the first round of the semifinal, Lee suffered a severe shoulder injury, suspected to be a clavicle fracture, which led to a doctor's stoppage and a retirement loss. Under tournament rules, semifinal losers in MMA are awarded bronze medals.

In shooting sports, the South Korean men's team—consisting of Park Ha-jun, Shin Min-gi, and Kwon Hyeop-jun—won a bronze medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event. The team finished with a total score of 1,884.2 points, placing third behind China and India. Park Ha-jun led the Korean scoring with 631.4 points. Following the team success, Park and Shin both advanced to the individual finals, finishing 7th and 6th respectively.
