Lee Byung-hun receives Minister of Foreign Affairs Award at Hallyu Expo

South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun received the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award at the 8th Newsis Hallyu Expo held on August 28. The award recognizes his contributions to enhancing the global presence of K-content and strengthening the competitiveness of the cultural industry.

During the ceremony, Lee addressed the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry. He expressed that while the ability of AI to write, compose, and even act can cause tension, he believes that human emotions and psychology remain uniquely complex and interesting. He stated that rather than fearing new technologies, he intends to accept them while continuing to focus on the power of human performance.

Lee has a significant international profile, with upcoming projects including the Disney+ series ‘The Koreans’ and the film ‘K.O. Club,’ a collaboration with director Hwang Dong-hyuk.
