Lee Chia-Ying marks literary comeback after 16 years

Taiwanese author Lee Chia-Ying has made a literary comeback after 16 years of silence with the international success of her book, ‘A Good Day to Put Your Head in the Oven’.

The work, translated by Anna Gustafsson Chen, is described as a formally free, smart, and humorous exploration of the distinctions between self-absorbed novels and lengthy autobiographies. The title of the book makes a remote allusion to the suicide of poet Sylvia Plath.
