Lee Clark resigns as Hartlepool United head coach

Lee Clark has resigned as the head coach of Hartlepool United following a 3-1 home defeat against Worthing. The announcement was made during a press conference shortly after the match at Victoria Park.

Worthing secured the victory with goals from Cory Adjetey-Brew, Ricky Aguiar, and Jose Marquez, while Will Harris scored for Hartlepool in the 78th minute. The loss leaves Hartlepool sitting 19th in the National League with nine points from nine games.

In his resignation statement, Clark noted that he had not been able to provide the club and fans with the performance they deserve. He cited the atmosphere and supporter reactions as factors, stating, “It hasn’t worked out. You’ve heard the reaction of the supporters. I took a long time out of the game and I wasn’t going to be coming back and getting an atmosphere like that.”
