Lee County early voting sees 13.55% turnout
Early voting is currently underway in Lee County for the August 18 primary election. Election officials report that voting equipment is largely operating as expected, following a period of testing where one piece of faulty equipment was identified and removed.
As of Tuesday evening, a total of 66,951 ballots have been cast, representing a 13.55% turnout of the 494,200 active eligible voters. The majority of these, 57,070, were submitted via mail, while 9,876 were cast at early voting locations. Five provisional ballots have also been logged.
Early voting sites remain open daily through August 15. Voters can utilize any of the 12 available locations or drop off mail-in ballots at Secure Ballot Intake Stations located at these sites.
