Lee Dong-ho, former Hyundai Department Store Vice Chairman, releases memoir

Lee Dong-ho, the former Vice Chairman of Hyundai Department Store Group, has released an autobiographical essay titled ‘First Steps of a Long Journey’.

During his 36-year tenure at the group, Lee oversaw strategic mergers and acquisitions, new business initiatives, and organizational culture innovation, eventually rising to the position of Vice Chairman in 2017.

Rather than focusing on business strategies or success stories, the book offers personal reflections on his life, ranging from childhood memories to his relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. A notable section, ‘A Half-Century Companion’, serves as a tribute to his wife. The work is described as a sincere look at life and personal growth following his transition from a corporate executive to a private citizen.
