Lee Jin-sook alleges Farmland Act violations at President Lee’s parents' gravesite

People Power Party lawmaker Lee Jin-sook has raised allegations of Farmland Act violations regarding the gravesite of President Lee Jae-myung’s parents in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province.

Lee visited the site on October 10 and posted photos on social media, claiming the location is agricultural land where gravesites are not permitted. She alleged that Bonghwa County issued restoration orders in 2023, 2024, and 2025, but claimed the presidential family has only paid fines while maintaining the graves.

The lawmaker also questioned ongoing construction near the site, which is officially labeled as ‘farm road paving’ but she characterized as work to permanentize the gravesite. Lee criticized the administration, suggesting that before investigating farmers for illegal land use, the President should address the legality of his own family's gravesite.
