Lee Jin-sook files lawsuit over ‘female Hitler’ remarks

South Korean lawmaker Lee Jin-sook of the People Power Party appeared at the Yeongdeungpo Police Station to undergo investigation as a complainant in a lawsuit against Democratic Party representative Kim Min-seok. The legal action follows remarks by Kim, who referred to Lee as a ‘female Hitler.’

In response, the Democratic Party has called for Lee’s resignation, arguing she lacks the qualifications to serve in the National Assembly. Party spokesperson Park Seong-jun criticized Lee’s political stance, citing her past actions such as inviting former officials associated with Chun Doo-hwan to parliamentary forums and her characterization of the May 18 Gwangju Uprising as a riot.

Lee defended herself during her appearance, questioning whether Kim’s comparison was intended as a threat. She further indicated plans to file additional charges regarding comments that compared her to Chun Doo-hwan.
