Lee Jun-seok criticizes Han Dong-hoon as ‘vulgar legal technician’

Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party, has issued sharp criticism against independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon, labeling him a “vulgar legal technician.” During a radio interview on YTN, Lee addressed Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon’s proposal to build a bridge between centrist conservative figures, including Lee himself, Han Dong-hoon, and former lawmaker Yoo Seong-min.

Lee dismissed the idea of a coalition, stating that Mayor Oh likely has no intention of working with Han. He further suggested that Han’s political style is beginning to resemble that of former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, noting that politicians often end up resembling those they dislike. Lee also criticized the current state of politics, referring to those who exploit legal battles as “legal bandits” (beop-bi) and stating that the interests of the younger generation in areas like Dongtan are vastly different from the legal disputes occurring in the National Assembly.

In response to Lee’s stance, former lawmaker Jeong Ok-im urged for conservative unity, suggesting that Lee should demonstrate more political inclusivity and grace despite personal grievances, especially given the current precarious state of the conservative camp.
