Lee Jung-hyun calls for end to 1980s activist politics

Former People Power Party nomination committee chair Lee Jung-hyun has called for an end to the era of 'activist politics' dominated by those from the 1980s movement. Lee argued that both the progressive and conservative sides are currently led by older generations who rely on past achievements rather than presenting future visions.

Lee emphasized the need for a fundamental shift in the political landscape to include the 20s, 30s, and 40s, describing them as a new subject force with global perspectives. To facilitate this, Lee mentioned the launch of 'Good Listener,' a group of approximately 120 young professionals, overseas scholars, and local leaders. The group aims to expand to 1,000 members by the end of the year, with long-term goals of reaching 10,000 for general elections and 100,000 before a presidential election, focusing on listening to citizens to drive policy change.
