Lee Pulliam signs full-time NASCAR O’Reilly Series deal for 2027
Short-track racing veteran Lee Pulliam has announced he will drive the No. 87 Chevrolet full-time for Peterson Racing in the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The announcement was made on the ‘Dale Jr. Download’ podcast.
Pulliam, a four-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national champion, credited Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports for helping facilitate this career milestone. His breakthrough performance occurred in March 2026 during his O’Reilly Series debut at Martinsville Speedway, where he drove JRM’s No. 9 Chevrolet to a fifth-place finish after leading 40 laps.
Pulliam will complete two tune-up starts for Peterson Racing this fall at Las Vegas and Martinsville. The deal was reportedly finalized with assistance from Danny Lawrence of Richard Childress Racing, who connected Pulliam with the Peterson Racing organization.
