Lee Seung-chul marks 40th anniversary with tribute project
South Korean singer Lee Seung-chul marked his 40th anniversary in the music industry during a media event in Seoul. Reflecting on his career, which began in 1986 as the vocalist for the rock band Boohwal, Lee expressed a desire to remain an active performer rather than a mere legend.
To celebrate this milestone, Lee is launching a tribute duet project featuring various junior artists. The first collaboration is with singer-songwriter WOODZ, who wrote and composed the track ‘Our Story’ (우리만의 이야기), scheduled for release on the 30th. Other participating artists in the project include Kim Jae-joong, Young K of DAY6, Wendy of Red Velvet, Lee Mu-jin, and Jannabi.
Lee detailed his long career, which includes over 2,500 live performances and numerous hits such as ‘Hee-ya’ and ‘Never Ending Story’. He also discussed overcoming vocal health challenges and his commitment to maintaining his musicality through frequent performances. His upcoming schedule includes a national tour and a world tour, totaling more than 50 scheduled performances.
