Leeds Rhinos prepare for York Knights clash amid injury concerns

Leeds Rhinos coach Brad Arthur has provided updates on squad availability and transfers ahead of the team’s upcoming match against York Knights. New signing Matt Lodge, a front-rower recently acquired from the North Queensland Cowboys, is set to make his debut off the bench on Sunday to bolster an injury-depleted pack.

The Rhinos are currently facing several personnel shortages. Danny Levi (neck), Keenan Palasia (foot), James McDonnell (pectoral muscle), and Ben Littlewood (hamstring) are unavailable for the weekend. Additionally, Jack Bird will miss the game due to concussion protocols following a recent loss to Leigh Leopards.

To address these absences, Harry Newman will return to his primary position in the centres alongside Ash Handley. Arthur noted that while McDonnell is working toward a return for the Wigan game, the team is unlikely to make further signings before the transfer window closes this Friday.
