Tarik Muharemović joins Leeds United for €40 million transfer

Bosnian centre‑back Tarik Muharemović (23) completed a move from Serie A club Sassuolo to Premier League side Leeds United. The deal, reported at €40 million (other sources cite €38 million or £34.1 million), includes a five‑year contract and makes him the most expensive Bosnian player ever. Leeds signed him as a direct replacement for left‑centre‑back Pascal Struijk, who left for Brighton. Juventus, which retained a 50 % sell‑on clause from an earlier deal with Sassuolo, will receive roughly half of the fee, estimated at about €20 million. The transfer was announced after Muharemović passed medicals in England and travelled to Leeds, where he was welcomed by fans on social media.
