Leeds United pursue World Cup defender Nico Elvedi and keeper Zion Suzuki

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is targeting a revamped defence for the 2026‑27 season after a solid 14th‑place finish and a cup run. The club have begun talks with Borussia Mönchengladbach centre‑back Nico Elvedi, whose World Cup displays impressed Farke; a fee of around €12 million is expected. In goal, Leeds are in advanced personal‑terms with Japan international Zion Suzuki of Parma, with a transfer value estimated at £25 million.

With the departure of Pascal Struijk, Leeds also need depth at left‑back. The club are monitoring former Sunderland defender Dennis Cirkin, who could join on a free transfer to provide cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson.
